“Winston Peters shoulder tapped us at Little George sometime around 1am Sunday. He’s offered us a large fortune to do a Good George job on the cathedral. I just wish I’d got it in writing”, Good George’s Brian Watson told TMTB.

“We know we can do it. Good George has done a great job in reviving the Anglican church here in Waikato. Between our converted St Georges brewpub in Hamilton and the converted church in Cambridge, I’d bet we get more bums on pews each Sunday than the actual Anglicans do”

Good George’s church conversion skills will face their biggest challenge with Christchurch Cathedral, which is a currently renovator’s dream with excellent natural light and indoor-outdoor flow.

“There’s plenty of room inside and we will be installing a 250 hectolitre brew kit with another 2500hl of fermenters. We can also fit a wood-fired pizza oven, and a smokehouse in the bell tower. Since it will be the biggest brewpub in the country, we’re going to call it Good God, and to honour its Church of England heritage we’ll be serving imperial pints too. With pork scratchings.”

Save the Christchurch Cathedral campaigner Jim Anderton expressed a huge thank you to Good George for have faith in the old girl. "I'm really looking forward to doing my penance once again and I'll be contacting Three Boys Brewery Tomorrow to see if they can restore AMI Stadium with the same conecpt"
